Overview

TruGrid RDS Manager Enterprise monitors Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) servers across your domain. It consists of two components that are run separately:

Data Collector Configurator (TruGrid-RDSM-DC-Config.exe) – A Configuration Manager that is used to centrally configure the environment and install the Data Collector Windows service. The Data Collector collects session and performance data. The Data Collector Configurator and the Data Collector Windows Service can run on a domain-joined Windows Server.
Enterprise Client (TruGrid-RDSM-Enterprise.exe) – The admin dashboard that connects to the Data Collector over the network. It can run on any Windows PC joined to the domain.

| Upgrading: Stop the service, replace both executables with the new versions, then restart the service. Existing data is preserved.

TruGrid SecureRDP supports RDP UDP transport, allowing remote desktop sessions to deliver graphics data over UDP alongside the standard TCP channel. This results in higher frame rates and a more responsive session, particularly under graphics-intensive or video-heavy workloads.

UDP transport is available upon request and requires the latest versions of TruGrid Sentry, Secure Connect, and Windows Desktop Connector.

About UDP Transport

Starting with RDP version 8.0, Microsoft introduced a UDP transport extension (MS-RDPEUDP) that runs alongside the traditional TCP connection. When UDP transport is available, RDP uses it for display and graphics data while TCP continues to handle session control and reliable data channels.

UDP transport improves session performance in two ways:

Reduced throughput throttling. TCP's congestion control algorithm backs off aggressively when it detects packet loss, which directly reduces the number of frames delivered to the client. UDP avoids this by not enforcing congestion-based throttling on display data.
Forward error correction instead of retransmission. Rather than waiting for lost packets to be retransmitted (which stalls the display pipeline), UDP transport uses forward error correct

When connecting to an EntraID or Active Directory joined Windows host via TruGrid SecureRDP on macOS, you can store your password in the macOS Passwords app and use Touch ID to fill it into the credential prompt. This removes the need to retype the password on every connection and avoids typos in the username format.

Requirements

macOS Ventura or later. macOS Sonoma or later is recommended, as it ships the standalone Passwords app.
Touch ID enabled on the Mac. If your Mac does not have Touch ID, you can authenticate the autofill action with your macOS account password instead, or use Apple Watch unlock if configured.
Your EntraID credentials, with the username in the format AzureAD\user@domain.com.
Your AD credentials, with the username in the user@company.com format

Step 1: Save the credential in macOS Passwords

Open the Passwords app. On macOS Ventura, open System Settings and go to Passwords.
Authenticate with Touch ID or your macOS account password.
Click the + button and select New Password.
