How MSPs can adjust and allocate licenses

For information on how TruGrid is licensed, please refer to this article. If you are a corporate customer please refer to this article.

How to adjust and allocate licensing:

  1. Log into the TruGrid portal with Root Administrator login
  2. Select Subscriptions from profile dropdown menu:

  1. Add and Allocate Licenses

When licenses are adjusted on the "Overview" tab, they are being adjusted for the whole "main" MSP domain.

a) Select option to Add (+) or Remove (-) additional licenses to license pool and then select Update Subscription (or Continue to Payment). This Add/Remove option for the primary domain will only be available for Root Administrator account. If more licenses are needed for customer domains, please purchase more for the primary domain and then navigate to the "SecureRDP" or "BitLocker" tabs in order to assign them.

b) ALLOCATE LICENSES TO CUSTOMER DOMAINS: Licenses can be allocated/deallocated to and from a specific customer domain, from the pool of licenses on the primary domain. To do this, navigate to the "SecureRDP" or "BitLocker" tabs and increase the license count for the Customer domain in question. Select Update Allocation after such assignments. Licenses can be allocated up to the maximum number of licenses in the primary pool:

There is a Licensing Report under Company Management, Reporting, Licensing. This will show the quantity of users reporting in vs the quantity of licenses allocated. See this article for more details.

Overview tab guide

The overview tab provides you an in depth overview of your licensing amounts for each of your products, as well as how increasing or decreasing your license count affects your pricing in a dynamic way:

  1. This shows you how many licenses are in use for your primary domain but does not include the free licenses (count as showed in point 3.) assigned to MSP's.
  2. This shows how many licenses you have available to allocate to your customers or your primary domain but does not include licenses that are expiring or in use.
  3. These are the non expiring licenses that are only available for the Primary domain.
  4. This tab will show you the dynamic price changes when a certain threshold of licenses is reached.
