How to optimize RDP for CAD users
How to optimize RDP for CAD users
If you are using AutoCAD, here is a guide from AutoDesk on using their software remotely. It also provides a guide on a few things you can do to improve the experience.
Below are some settings which users have reported as being helpful:
- On the command line in AutoCAD, type CURSORTYPE and set it to 1.
- On the command line in AutoCAD, type GRAPHICSCONFIG and turn off hardware acceleration.
Much of the performance comes down to latency for AutoCAD. See this in-depth document about a Remote Desktop Analyzer than can help you measure latency between a home and office connection.
TruGrid SecureRDP supports what is built into RDP, provided an environment is properly configured.
