RemoteApp - Advanced Publishing

TruGrid RemoteApp allows users to remotely run applications installed on Windows servers, without revealing the full desktop to the user. You can deploy RemoteApp by following the steps in this article: How to use RemoteApp.

RemoteApp - ADVANCED PUBLISHING is only available for customers running TruGrid Sentry versions v6.3.0.0 or newer. TruGrid RemoteApp has been successfully tested on Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022. On Windows Server 2008 R2, PowerShell 5.1 / .NET 4.52 is required.TruGrid RemoteApp is only supported on Windows Servers. It is not supported on Windows Workstations.

This article covers how to use the ADVANCED PUBLISHING feature for ease of management in larger environments that have hundreds of servers and need to publish specific apps instead of all apps on all servers.

Key features of ADVANCED PUBLISHING include:

  • Allows organizations to publish only specific apps. This is in contrast to the DEFAULT PUBLISHING experience where all apps are enumerated and made available for potential assignment.
  • Admins can switch between the DEFAULT and ADVANCED PUBLISHING experience without losing apps that have already been assigned, including to whom they were assigned

You can tell that you have ADVANCED PUBLISHING feature enabled when you see the "Manage App Selection" button instead of the "Refresh Available Applications" button.
