TruGrid SecureRDP - EntraID login experience

Overview

TruGrid supports two authentication methods: Standard (On-Premises Active Directory) and Microsoft EntraID. This article explains what each login experience looks like so users know what to expect when signing in.

Entra ID Login

Tip: If your admin has enabled Stay Signed In, you won't need to re-authenticate with Microsoft every time you open the connector. This setting can be managed per user by your TruGrid administrator.

  1. Open your TruGrid Connector (Web, Windows, Mac, or iOS).
  2. Enter your email address on the TruGrid login screen.
  3. You are redirected to the Microsoft sign-in page, where you sign in with your Microsoft work account credentials.
  4. If your organization requires MFA, Microsoft will prompt you at this step (Authenticator app, phone call, SMS, etc.) -- this is managed by your organization through Microsoft, not TruGrid.
  5. After signing in with Microsoft, you are returned to TruGrid and your assigned resources are displayed.
  6. When launching a remote desktop, you may see a second Windows login prompt if the remote computer requires separate credentials. Select Remember Me to save these for future sessions.

The key difference is that you sign in through Microsoft's familiar login page rather than entering credentials directly into TruGrid. If you already use Microsoft 365 or other Microsoft services, this will look the same.

  2. Enter your username and password on the TruGrid login screen.
  3. If your administrator has enabled MFA, you will be prompted for a verification code via the TruGrid Authenticator app, SMS, or email.
  4. After signing in, your assigned desktops and applications are displayed. Click any resource to connect.
