# How to stop local drives from being mapped in RDP

There are two key ways to prevent drives from being mapped in RDP

1. Uncheck option to map drives when initially connecting to the RDP session. This is can be turned off and on by the user. It is not a centrally controlled policy. See [this article](/en/article/reset-local-rdp-publisher-prompt-e65lfd/) for more information.
