# How to optimize SecureRDP for CAD users

If you are using TruGrid SecureRDP to access remote machines and work in AutoCAD, this article goes over recommendations on how to optimize the experience. Much of the performance comes down to latency for AutoCAD. ### AutoCAD optimization

It also provides a guide on a few things you can do to improve the experience. 

Below are some settings which users have reported as being helpful: 
* On the command line in AutoCAD, type CURSORTYPE and set it to 1.
* On the command line in AutoCAD, type GRAPHICSCONFIG and turn off hardware acceleration.
