How to Migrate a TruGrid Tenant
TruGrid Tenant Migration Guide
Tenant migrations require coordination between the customer, TruGrid Support, and (where applicable) a new Managed Service Provider (MSP). This guide outlines the required steps for a successful migration.
1. Start a Migration Request
- Open a chat session with TruGrid Support.
- State that you would like to initiate a Tenant Migration or MSP Migration.
- A support agent will confirm your request and provide the next steps.
2. Complete the Migration Form
The TruGrid Support agent will:
- Provide you with the official Migration Request Form: https://trugrid.com/migrate
- Request that you complete the form in full.
- Validate the required migration type:
a. Business Customer → MSP
b. MSP Customer → New MSP
c. MSP → Business Account
- Inform you that an authorized user must send an email to help@trugrid.com confirming the migration request
3. Authorized Customer Confirmation
After submitting the form:
- An authorized user must send an email to help@trugrid.com confirming the migration request
- TruGrid Support cannot proceed without an explicit email confirmation.
- After authorization to migrate is received, TruGrid will schedule the migration
- TruGrid will notify affected parties of the migration date
- TruGrid Support will notify the new MSP / business to allocate licenses to the migrated tenant
Example: How to Submit a Migration Request
Scenario
A business customer wants to transfer their TruGrid tenant from their current MSP (ABC Technology) to a new MSP (DEF Technology).
Steps
- Contact TruGrid Support
Open a chat and state:
“I would like to request a tenant migration from my current MSP (ABC Technology) to a new MSP (DEF Technology).”
- Complete the Migration Form
After receiving the form from Support, fill it out with:
- Current MSP: ABC Technology
- New MSP: DEF Technology
- Tenant details
- Authorized contact information
- Send the Authorization Email
An authorized user (e.g., business owner or IT admin) sends an email to help@trugrid.com confirming:
- They approve the migration
- The form information is accurate
- Support team confirm ETA with Escalation team and client
- They authorize moving the tenant to new MSP (DEF Technology)
- Support Verification and License Allocation
TruGrid Support will verify:
- Form completeness
- Authorization email validity (from help@trugrid.com inbox)
- Confirmation from DEF Technology
Once complete, TruGrid Support notifies the new MSP so they can allocate licenses to the migrated tenant.
