How to create RDP file on MacOS

  1. Open Microsoft Remote Desktop application
  2. Click on + and select Add PC from dropdown list
  3. You will see modal window with RDP connection properties
  4. Find out PC Name with Host name or IP address form.
  5. Fill it with 127.0.0.1 IP address and click on Add
  6. It should look like on the screenshot below (step 10).
  7. Then you will see that you have created test RDP file in step 12
  8. Hover and click on three dots ... and select Export from dropdown menu
  9. You will see another modal window with two buttons Cancel and Browse
  10. Click on Browse button , select Desktop folder in other window and click Export
  11. RDP file with name 127.0.0.1.rdp will appear on your desktop.
